What is a Roblox Studio AI agent?
A Roblox Studio AI agent is an assistant that works on your actual place instead of just talking about it. You describe what you want, and it reads your scripts and objects, makes the changes, and tests them. It is the same idea as the coding agents developers use in other editors, adapted to how Roblox games are built.
The problem it solves
Building in Roblox means working in two worlds at once: code in scripts, and a world of objects in the Explorer and viewport. A general chatbot only sees the text you paste. That is why its answers are often close but wrong. It does not know your folder layout, your remote names, or what is already in the place.
An agent closes that gap. It looks, then acts.
What it can see
A connected agent has tools to inspect:
- The tree of services and instances.
- The source of every script.
- Properties of objects.
- The Output console.
- A screenshot of the viewport.
It reads only what the task needs, which keeps it fast and keeps cost down.
What it can change
- Edit and create scripts, with a diff for you to review.
- Create, move, and configure instances.
- Run short Luau commands against the place.
- Insert assets after searching.
- Start and stop Play mode for testing.
Anything that writes waits for your approval unless you tell the app otherwise.
How Kiwari fits in
Kiwari is a desktop app for macOS that connects to Roblox Studio. It sits beside Studio and does not live inside it. You chat with the agent, review edits in a diff view, and watch the result in Studio as it happens.
It also offers:
- Plan mode, for drafting and editing a plan before building.
- Subagents, which can explore your project in parallel while the main chat continues.
- Per-place memory, so decisions persist between chats.
- A model picker, from free models to the most capable ones.
A typical session
- You open a place and ask: "Add a double jump with a short cooldown."
- The agent finds your character controller scripts and reads them.
- It proposes an edit. You review the diff and approve it.
- It runs the game, presses jump twice, and reads the console.
- It reports what it checked.
Safety and control
- Review by default. Edits and commands ask first.
- Undo for script edits. You can roll back what it changed.
- Read-only mode. Ask mode cannot change the place.
- Play is temporary. Nothing from a Play session is saved.
- Your place stays yours. Work happens in your open Studio session on your machine.
When an agent is the right tool
It is a strong fit when the work is multi step, touches several scripts, or involves a lot of repetition. For a one line question, a quick answer is enough, and you may not need an agent at all.
Costs
Models are billed by use. Kiwari has daily free usage, Pro at $19.99 a month, and Pro+ at $69.99 a month with more usage and the strongest models. Yearly billing is about 5% cheaper. See pricing.
